Google is making it easier for users worldwide to discover information and navigate the web with updates to its AI Overviews feature in Search. Launched in May, AI Overviews have enhanced users’ ability to ask complex questions and find diverse perspectives, benefiting publishers and content creators.

The latest enhancements include a right-hand link display for AI Overviews, available on both desktop and mobile. Google is also experimenting with embedding direct links within AI Overviews, which has already shown promise in driving higher organic traffic to websites.

Google is also expanding AI Overviews to six new countries, including the UK, India, and Japan. The feature now allows users to “save” specific AI Overviews for later reference and offers a language simplification option to make information easier to understand. These updates aim to maintain high-quality search results while making the web more accessible to a broader audience.

AI Overviews are grounded in Google’s core quality and safety systems, ensuring reliable and high-quality information delivery.

As more users use this feature, Google will continue to refine and expand it further, taking testing and feedback into account.
