Ethical, in many ways
When it comes to SEO, being ethical is vitally important. We are proud of our heritage and we’ve never had a site or clients banned or penalised, due to using ethical SEO techniques and practices – we only use white-hat techniques without fancy tricks. Our goal is to help clients build long-term value.
We have also taken a business-wide approach to being ethical and we look long term with our ethics in other important ways:
- Employees have received the Living Wage, and Non-Contributory Pensions years before it was made law. They also get Health Care and an Equity Percentage in the business, it all helps to keep everyone keen and motivated on your behalf.
- Our Directors pay themselves in the same ball-park too, helping keep our overheads low which creates value for clients. Since Covid we’ve become a home-based business, further cementing this value-for-money approach into our DNA.
- We’ve also treated our global responsibilities ethically too. We were the UK’s first Carbon Neutral Online Marketing Agency, in fact, we’ve gone further and since 2014 we’ve also helped offset some of our employee’s private consumption by offsetting around a double-decker sized equivalent of CO2 each week.
- We give back too and over the years have been associated with Northants Business School, Corby Enterprise Zone, & Aston University. We’ve also provided charitable donations and free assistance to The Farming Community Network (Mental Health Nationwide), Keep Care Homes Live (Midlands Social Care), Sharsheret, (US Female Cancer Support).
- Our most recent project is as long term corporate sponsors of Joy Home for Children. A UK regulated charity providing a roof over the heads, food and education for hundreds of Indian street orphans. Just £2 per week can save a life.
- We believe in continuing education too by making time available for ongoing Google qualifications, participation in high-level NVQ in Business Administration and as alumni of the Goldman Sachs funded 10k Small Business Program. It all helps us be as ethical and careful with client budgets as we are with our own.
- We’re proud of our response to the COVID-19 pandemic with face masks and sanitisers ordered for all employees in January 2020, an attempt to lobby the government into action in February and an eventual announcement to protect staff and clients by enforcing home working at the end of February, ahead of the governments’ announcement and lockdown. We even went as far as procuring an oxygen concentrator ‘just in case’ any staff member or their family found themselves in need. The culmination of all these efforts is the recognition of our achievement by The Good Business Charter who accepted us as early members alongside such renowned brands as Capita, Deloitte, Richer Sounds & TSB.
- Whilst we have international clients we are proud to be a UK based business and we pay our taxes accordingly. All work is undertaken by skilled UK employees, nothing is secretly routed off-shore to boost profits and sacrifice quality.
